Cleveland County Students Receive Scholarships
Nine Cleveland County students have received scholarships from the North Carolina Division of Veterans Affairs.  The following students were awarded Class I-B scholarships:
Matthew Adam Turner, son of Brent and Keisha Turner is a 2012 graduate of Kings Mountain High School and is attending Guilford College. Mr. Turner will receive tuition and exemption from certain mandatory fees as set forth in the law. 
Keana Marie Ussery, daughter of Raymond and Evelyn Ussery Sr., is a 2012 graduate of Shelby High School and is attending University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.  Ms. Ussery will receive tuition and exemption from certain mandatory fees as set forth in the law.
The following students were awarded Class II scholarships:
Olivia Anne Ashley, daughter of Dan and Callie Ashley is a 2012 graduate of Crest High School and is attending Cleveland Community College majoring in Nursing. 
Ryan Carl Bailey, son of Dennis Bailey, is a 2009 graduate of Shelby High School and is attending Cleveland Community College and is majoring in Pharm D prerequisites. 
Rebecca Ashley Martin, daughter of Don and Penny Martin, is a 2012 graduate from Kings Mountain High School and is attending UNC Wilmington majoring in Nursing.
The following students were awarded Class III scholarships:
Rebekah Clare Anthony, daughter of Ed and Penny Anthony, is a 2012 graduate of Kings Mountain High School and is attending UNC - Asheville majoring in Psychology with a K6 teaching licensure and a minor in Theatre. 
Ronnie James Dorsey, son of Ronald L. Dorsey and Kerry D. Edwards, is a 2012 graduate of Burns High School and is attending Cleveland Community College majoring in Criminal Justice.
Ericka Shanese Merriweather, daughter of Willie and Sherrese Beam is a 2011 graduate of Shelby High School and is attending UNC Greensboro majoring in Biology, Pre- Physical Therapy. 
Dustin Wyatt Whitaker, son of Robert Whitaker, Jr. and Barbie Whitaker is a 2012 graduate of Burns High School and is attending North Carolina State majoring in Math Education.  All Scholarship recipients will receive tuition, room and board allowances and exemption from certain mandatory fees.
