Mr. Clyde J. Spencer, Jr., 76 of 6221 Adele Lane, passed away on Monday, May 5, 2014 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
He was born in Cherokee County, SC on August 13, 1937 a son of the late Clyde Jackson Spencer, Sr. and Flossie Mae Spencer Spencer. Mr. Spencer was retired from textiles.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Medlin Spencer; a daughter Lori Spencer Campbell; a son, Thomas Bernard Spencer; a grandson, Bo Bo Spencer; three sisters and a brother.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Clyde Spencer of Lumberton and Johnny Spencer and wife Lisa of Rock Hill, SC; four daughters and sons-in-law, Marie Benfield and Lewis of Kings Mountain; Denise Welch and Jamie of Turbeville, SC; Janice Watts and Rusty of Gastonia and Pam Carpenter and husband Carroll of Kings Mountain; two sisters, Fairlene Smith of Gastonia and Nancy Anthony of Bessemer City; also surviving are numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Friday, May 9, 2014 from 12:45 to 1:45PM at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home and at other times the family will be at the home.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 9, 2014 at 2:00PM at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Doug Allen officiating.
Burial will be in Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain.
