Clyde Elam Scism, Sr., 84, of 3264 Ramseur Church Road, Shelby, passed away
Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Kings Mountain Hospice House in Kings Mountain.
Mr. Scism was born in Cleveland County on July 11, 1928, to the late C.D.
Scism and Beulah Dedmon Scism. He retired after 31 years of service from
Foote Mineral as a supervisor in the mine department and was also a heavy
equipment operator. He also served in the US Army during the Korean
Conflict.
In addition to his parents Mr. Scism is preceded in death by his wife Martha
Joann Wright Scism; two sons, Clyde Scism, Jr. and Lee Scism; brother, James
C. Scism; and three sisters, Ethel Scism Farmer, Betty Scism Spake, and Dot
Scism Seagraves.
He is survived by two daughters, Charlene Scism Parker and husband Boyd and
Patty Scism Botts both of Shelby; two daughters-in-law, Nancy Royster Scism
of Lawndale and Amanda Thrift Scism of Shelby; sisters, Lib Scism Carpenter
of Hickory; brother, Joe B. Scism of Lawndale and seven grandchildren, Jenna
Parker Hamby and husband Jeremy, Holly Parker and fiancé Douglas Breashears,
Caroline Scism, Anna Botts, Michael Botts, Dixon Scism and Dillon Scism.
Visitation, 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Sunday, Stamey Funeral Home, Fallston.
