Clyde Wilford Laughter, age 87 resident of Shelby, NC was born into this life on March 22, 1928 in Gaston Co. NC and was born into his eternal life on December 3, 2015 at the Testa Family Hospice House. He was preceded in death by his parents, Christopher C. Laughter and Cora Hull Laughter; his wife of 31 years, Shirley Bridgman Laughter; and brothers, Arvel Laughter, Woodrow Laughter, William Laughter, Harvey Laughter; and sisters, Ethel Laughter, Violet Dixon, Bertha Morris, Mildred Wengerd, Mamie Lee Stone and Ruby Laughter. Mr. Laughter worked in radio broadcasting at several radio stations over the years. He also was a commercial real estate agent as well as sales rep for a commercial sign company. He was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church, Kings Mtn. NC where he served as lay leader, church choir member, church musician and soloist, usher and Sunday school teacher. He was passionate about volunteering and outreach. He was former member of First Baptist Church, Belton, SC and First Baptist Church, Taylors, SC where he served as deacon and Sunday school teacher.

He served in the United States Navy during World War II and a member of the Lion's Club.

SURVIVORS: Daughters: Cynthia Laughter Ross and husband David W. Ross, Canton, GA

Christi Laughter Fowler and husband Dan Fowler, Greer, SC

Longtime Friend and Companion: Colene Bennett, Kings Mtn. NC

4 Grandchildren: Grant Fowler, Austin Fowler and wife Faith, Alexandra Ross and Nicholas Ross.

Numerous nieces and nephews.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: Grace United Methodist Church, Tuesday, December 8, 2015 2:00 P.M. Rev. Julie Roberts and Rev. Tom Jolley, Rev. Dean Smith officiating.

VISITATION: Family to receive friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall of Grace United Methodist Church.
