Colleen Peace Underwood, 88, formerly of 1330 W. Pine Street, Blacksburg, SC, went home to be with the Lord April 4, 2014, at Brookview Healthcare Center, Gaffney, SC. A native of Cherokee County, she is the wife of the late Fred Underwood and a daughter of the late John Charles and Lola Bell Isler Peace. She was retired from the textile industry. Mrs. Underwood was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Left to cherish her memory are numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by four sisters - Eugenia Crawford, Ruby Owens, Virginia Owens and Thelma Parker; and three brothers - William Peace, Perry Peace and James C. "Buck" Peace.
The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 1-2:00 PM at White Columns Funeral Service.
A Celebration Of Life Service will follow at 2:30 PM, graveside, at Mountain View Cemetery, with Rev. Alester McKInney officiating. At other times, the family will be at the home of her niece, Sylvia Hampton, 1334 W. Pine Street, Blacksburg, SC.
