Mr. Moss was born in Gaston County, NC on October 19, 1927 a son of the late Rufus Hollifield Moss and Maime Laura Craft Moss.  He was retired from Carolina Freight Carriers Corporation of Cherryville after 21 years of service as a long line driver and a mechanic and a retired charter member of Teamsters Local #61.  Mr. Moss was a member of First United Methodist Church where he was a member and past president of the J.L. Beam Men’s Bible Class.  Mr. Moss served his country in the US Marine Corp, Second Marine Airwing at Cherry Point.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Sue Pruett Moss, four brothers, T.A., R.J., Paul and Joe Moss and four sisters Alma Dare Moss, Mary Margaret Moss, Ruby Udell Moss and Sue Moss.

Survivors include his grandchildren, Mark Pruett of Catawba, Shully Pruett Cloninger and Lacy Pruett Todd both of Cherryville; four great grandchildren, Landon and Clara Sue Cloninger, Harrison Pruett and Maisy Todd.  Also surviving is a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Thursday, September 20, 2012 from 12:45 until 1:45pm at First United Methodist Church in Cherryville.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 2:00PM at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Rick Fite officiating.

Burial will be at Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Cherryville.
