Cynthia Long King
Cynthia Long King, age 67 of Second St. went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Robin Johnson Hospice House. She was born on July 27, 1948 in Lincoln County to the late Carl Lee and Ramona Beal Long. She was a lifelong member of Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir. In her teen years, she helped carry the bricks as the Sunday School wing was being constructed. She loved her church and her Sunday School Class. Cyndy was a floral designer and previously worked for Lincoln Florist and various Winn Dixie locations. She enjoyed traveling to the beach. She had a great love for her children and grandchildren and cherished the time she spent with them.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Randy Darrell King.
Survivors include her five sons, Darrell King, Don King, Derek "Mickey" King, and Beau King all of the home, and Rev. Jonathan King and wife, Elizabeth, whom she loved as a daughter, of Crouse; grandchildren, C.J., Kathryn, Julianna, and Nathan King; brothers by marriage, Richard King of Concord, Tony King of Salisbury, Steve King of Mooresville, and Danny King of Mooresville; sisters by marriage, Sherry King of Mooresville and Gail Lowery of Mooresville; and cousin "sister," Martha Cherry of Denver; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 29, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church with Pastor Ken Jones, Rev. Jonathan King, and Pastor James Cape officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 28, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Lincoln Ave Baptist Church.
