Dale Queen Hendricks
Dale Queen Hendricks, age 78, of Westgate Drive, died December 26, 2013 at Caromont Regional Medical Center.  He was born in Gaston County, July 6, 1935 a son of the late Hobson “Hob” Hendricks and Nell Queen Hendricks Black. Dale was retired from Carolina Freight Carriers with 28 years of service.  Dale previously served for five years with the Gaston County Rural Police Department.  He was a fan of the N.C. Tar Heels and the Green Bay Packers.  He was a Cherryville High School Graduate, Veteran of the US Air Force, a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church where he was the Senior Men’s Sunday School Class teacher, a current Deacon, choir member and a member of the YMCA. He enjoyed gardening and playing golf.
 
Survivors include his wife of fifty years, Nancy Sue Rainey Hendricks, a son Greg Hendricks (Renee) of Vale, two grandsons he loved dearly, Christian and Zachary Hendricks, and a brother Ben Hendricks of Drexel.
 
Funeral services will be held at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, Sunday, December 29, 2013 at 3:00 PM with Rev. Jeremy Mahaffey and Rev. Don Willis officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery following the service.  The family will receive friends from 1:30 – 2:45 PM at the church prior to the service at the church.
