Daniel “Dano” Mason, age 70, of Mooresboro, NC, died Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at the Wendover-Hospice House of Cleveland County.
Born June 6, 1944 in Newport, Rhode Island, he was the son of the late Daniel Dewitt Mason and Earnestine Jessie Cudd Mason. He worked as a Chemical Technician for Metals America for several years and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Dano enjoyed playing computer chess, collecting model trains and building creatively with original Legos.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Dan Lee Mason and aunt, Ruby Mason.
Survivors include two daughters, Jody Lisa Baker and husband, Brad and Donna Mason all of Mooresboro; Dano’s loving companion, Mary Hart of Mooresboro; four grandchildren, Robert Ledbetter, Derek Mason, Brad Alexander Baker, Jacob Baker and three great grandchildren, Alexandra Jayne Ledbetter, Brynley Elizabeth Baker and James Andrew Ledbetter.
A gathering of remembrance will be take place from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at the Cliffside Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
