Danny "Redneck" Gold III, 55, died Friday, April 24, 2020, at his home.

A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Dan Thomas Gold Jr. and Elle Elmore Gold. Danny worked for Izzi Mobile Home Movers, and was a member of the WindJammers Bike Club. He enjoyed spending time in the mountains.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene Hull; brother, Chris Whisnant; sister, Vickie Edwards; and two grandchildren. He is survived by his sons, John Lemons and wife Nikki of Shelby, Thomas Gold of Gastonia, and Brandon Gold and wife Jennifer of Morganton; daughter, Ashely Parker and husband Travis "Dawg" of Shelby; sisters, Judy Newton and husband Tim of Shelby, and Libby Brown and husband Loyd of Lawndale; 9 grandchildren; and his faithful k-9 companion, Bella. The family will receive friends 6-8pm, Saturday, May 2, 2020, at the Windjammers Club House, 745 Nalley Dr., Shelby.
