David "Joe" Hamrick

SHELBY-David "Joe" Hamrick, 73, died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2016, at Hospice at Wendover. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late William and Margaret Murray Hamrick. He retired from Duke Energy after 37 years of service, and was a member of Faith Baptist Church, where he was active in the Adult Bible Class. He was a loving husband and father, who enjoyed making gospel bracelets and sharing with others.

PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Don Hamrick; sisters, Patty Linkous, Judy Smith, and Pamela Morrow

SURVIVED: He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Linda Curry Hamrick, of the home; sons, Scott Hamrick and wife Anna of Shelby, and Warren Michael Wilkins and wife Robin of Oklahoma; sister, Dot Hollifiled and husband Derrell of Shelby; grandchildren, Eric Hamrick, Leigh, Lynn, Warren, Caleb, and Ryan Wilkins; great-grandson to be, Jaxx Hunter Hamrick; and many nieces and nephews; and his canine companion, Trixie

MEMORIAL SERVICES: A memorial Service will be held 2pm, Monday, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home

VISITATION: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home

BURIAL: will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park

CLERGY: Rev. Johnny Owens and Dr. J. Barry Goodman
