David Lee Travis Sr
 Mr. David Lee Travis Sr., 77, of 830 Mull St., went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Sun. Feb. 19th, 2012 at Carolina’s Medical Center in Charlotte.  A native of Lincoln Co. he was the son of the late George and Mary Emma Motz Travis.  He retired from PPG Industries, served as a board member of New Bethel Church of Shelby, where he was a member, and was a charter member of the McAdenville Volunteer Fire Department.  He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 39 years, Judy Langley Travis;  brother, Walter Travis; sisters, Flossie Travis and Ethel Schronce.

SURVIVED: He is survived by his three sons, David L. Travis Jr. and wife Lisa, Todd Carpenter and wife Carol, all of Shelby, Kevin Travis of Clearwater, Fl; two daughters, Susan Litaker and special friend, Rick Miller of Charlotte, and Shannon Davis and husband Perry of Kings Mountain; 9 grandchilren, Ryan Legere, Timmy Chavis, Kyle Travis, Justin Carpenter, John Hendrick, Miranda Davis, Brittni Hendrick, Blake Davis, and Riley Travis; two great grandchildren, Cheyanne and Savannah Carpenter; brother, Garland “Bud” Travis of Newton; two sisters, Betty Byers and Elizabeth “Teeny” Richard of Lincolnton; and a host of special friends from New Bethel Church of Shelby.

SERVICES:  2:00pm, Wednesday, at New Bethel Church of Shelby

VISITATION: The family will receive friends 6-8:00pm, Tuesday, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home, and other times at his home.

CLERGY: Rev. Dick Whitner

BURIAL: Burial will immediately follow in Sunset Cemetery
