Dean Watkins, 70, passed away December 17,2021 after a short illness surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Rutherford County to the late Dever Donald Watkins and Margaret Janelle Howard. Dean was very fond of his late stepfather Charles Johnson. He is survived by his loving wife Kim Robinson, of the home, son Tim Watkins of Kings Mountain, brothers Mark Watkins and wife Robin of Charleston, SC and Jerry "Jake" Watkins of Kannapolis, NC, sister Rhonda Skipper and husband Aaron of Charlotte, several beloved nieces and nephews, and his Uncle Bud Howard of Forest City, NC.

Dean was fun-loving and intelligent. He was an expert in football and fishing. He had an incredible memory. Dean loved music, cars, his family and his beloved pets Rosebud and PeeWee.

A private Memorial Service for family and close friends will be held on January 2, 2022 from 2-4:00 PM at Ascension Lutheran Church 300 N. LaFayette St. Shelby, NC 28150.
