Debora "Debbie" Wilson Bridges age 54, died Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at her home. Born in Cleveland County on September 16, 1960 she was the daughter of Robert "Bill" William and Shelva Jean Hawkins Wilson. Debbie was an active member of Double Springs Baptist Church where she served as church secretary for over 20 years. She also previously served the church by singing in the choir, teaching a Mission Friends class, and serving as youth leader. Debbie was a loving and compassionate person. She had a love for her animals especially her canine companion, Mattie. Debbie's passion was her family especially her three granddaughters. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed baking, making jelly, crocheting, and cross stitching Christmas stockings for family and friends. Having family over for meals and spending time together brought her a great deal of happiness. Debbie is preceded in death by her grandparents, Lillie Carpenter Hawkins, Lawrence and Sophia Hawkins, Malcolm and Leila Wilson; Parents- in- law, Gene and Margaret Bridges.

Debbie is survived by those she loved and adored, her husband of 33 years, Eddie Bridges; a son, John Bridges and wife Crystal of Shelby; a daughter, Amanda Carpenter and husband Justin of Shelby; three sisters, Donna Wilson, Denise Rankin and husband David, and Deedee Canipe and husband Derrick all of Shelby; three beloved granddaughters, Cheyenne Carpenter, Savannah Carpenter, and Carter Bridges; and nieces and nephews, Matt Rankin, Mike Rankin, Shane Canipe and Siera Canipe all of Shelby.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 4:00 pm at Double Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Fryar and Rev. Glenn Walker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours before the service from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm in the sanctuary.
