Shelby -- Deborah Anne Bowman Blanton, 64, of Foxcroft Circle, passed away on Wednesday, February 6th, 2019, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

Born in Shelby, she was the widow of Benny F. Blanton and the daughter of the late Harry O'Neal Bowman and Carolyn Wise Bowman Sapough. She previously worked in textiles and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving Mrs. Blanton are a daughter, Amy Jo Grigg of Shelby; two grandsons, Max Grigg Laflamme and Gus Grigg Laflamme, both of Shelby; three brothers, Dennis Bowman (Sheila) of Blacksburg, Larry Bowman (Wanda) of Blacksburg, and Kevin Bowman (Kim) of Gaffney; a sister-in-law, Jackie Blanton, of Polkville, NC; a special friend of the family, Jennifer McNeilly Yelton; one niece and five nephews; and one granddog, Tilly.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Blanton was preceded in death by a brother, Phil Bowman.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Blanton on Friday, February 15th, 2019, at 6:00 PM in the Gordon Mortuary Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service.
