Deborah Poplin Barberousse, 70, of Shelby, passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Brian Center, Lincolnton.

Born in Stanly County on July 1, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Marvin Elwood Poplin and Jane Perry Poplin. She was a retired Dean from Southeastern Community College.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Loris Victor Barberousse III.

Survivors include one son, Jace Auten and wife Angela of Lawndale and two grandchildren, Alex Auten and Natalie Auten.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

The burial will be private.
