Denise Roberts Dodge age 61, died Sunday July 28, 2013 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. Born on January 28, 1952 she was the daughter of Billy and Mary Martin Roberts. She retired from Bell South after 30 years of service as a Service Consultant. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church where she served on many committees. She taught Sunday School at Summit Place, where she faithfully ministered to the Alzheimer’s patients. For over ten years, she worked with the NC Baptist Ministry Disaster Relief Mass Feeding Team. In addition to her service to others, she enjoyed gardening and working in the yard. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, R.T. and Grace Martin, and H. L. Roberts and Bessie Forbes.

In addition to her parents, Billy and Mary Martin Roberts of Shelby, Denise is survived by her husband of 40 years, Robert D. Dodge; a son, Robert M. “Bert” Dodge of Shelby; a daughter, Rebecca Bouldin and husband David of Graham; a sister, Suzie Roberts of Shelby; and a grandson, Charles Bouldin.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday July 30, 2013 at 2:00pm at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Dr. Steve Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Elizabeth Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the Christian Activity Center an hour before the service and other times at the home of her parents at, 257 Kemper Road, Shelby NC.
