GROVER - Mr. Dixie Clark Carter, of Grover NC, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 12, 2015, at 7:25 p.m. surrounded by family.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Janice Carter of the home; along with his four children, Wanda Carter, Darlene Estes, Brenda Duncan, Wayne Carter and Buddy Gillis, a close family member who was like a son, along with his son-in-laws, Rick Duncan and Bo Estes, and his daughter-in-law, Alicia Carter. He leaves behind nine grandchildren, Sherri, Jason, Nicole, Jessica, Josh, Bryce, Katey, Deanna and Dillon; five great-grand children with two more on the way. He also leaves behind two sisters, Hallie Whiteside and Rosemary Smith.
He is predeceased by his mother, Kate Pratt: two brothers, Frank Pratt and Ralph Carter.
He served during peace-time for the United States Army and retired from Grover Industries in early 2000.
There will be a celebration of life held at his home at a later time.
He is very loved and will be missed by everyone that knew him. He would have been 75 years of age on December 30, 2015.
