Mr. Dominick George Barbieri, age 81 of Ellenboro, NC, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2015, at Hospice of Rutherford County.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Rebecca Barbieri of the home, daughters; Polly Leonhardt and husband Mark of Ellenboro, NC, Melody " Sissy" Barbieri of Shelby, NC, son; Lt. Col. Jack Edward King and wife Wendy of Earlysville VA, ten grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, brother; Ronald Barbieri and wife Barbara of Rosedale, NY, and several nieces and nephews.

Born June 3, 1934, in Queens, New York, he was the son of the late George and Clementine Delia Barbieri and was preceded in death by brothers; Victor Barbieri and Walter Barbieri.

Mr. Barbieri served in the United States Navy where he was a recovery diver. After his service in the military, he worked as a machinist. He also was an avid gun and knife collector. He enjoyed animals, and spending time with his family and friends.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday November 21, 2015, at Big Springs Baptist Church, 534 Big Springs Church Road Ellenboro, NC. Service will be conducted by the Rev. Paul Scott. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church
