Don Farris, 71, of 405 S. Main Street, passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2020 at his residence.

Don was born in Gaston County, NC on February 28, 1949 a son of the late Evon Farris and Viola Shaw Farris. He was owner and operator of Farris Boiler and Piping. Don attended Ledford Grove Baptist Church in Lawndale.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Cynthia Farris Freeman.

Survivors include his wife, Dianne Farris of the home; a stepson, Jimmy Deveney of Waco; two stepdaughters, Sissy Craft (Scott) of Cherryville and Sandy Walker of Waco; three sisters Linda Hastings and husband Bud; Kathy Gamble and husband Bryan and a brother-in-law Johnny Freeman; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

The family would like to express a special thank you to Karen Brady for all of her care and compassion.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jackie Price officiating.

The family will greet friends following the service and at other times they will be at the home.

Burial will be private.
