Donald Eugene Sherrill, 76, of 410 McSwain Road, passed away Saturday, November 15th, 2014, at his residence.
Born in Gastonia, he was the husband of Carolyn Sherrill and the son of the late Fred Sherrill and Fannie Sherrill. Mr. Sherrill retired as an electrician in the textile industry. He was a former mayor of Spencer Mountain, NC.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Sherrill is survived by three sisters, Vera Calder and Linda King of Gastonia, NC, and Geraldine Moore of Kings Mountain, NC.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Sherrill and Steven Sherrill.
The family will receive friends on Monday, November 17th, 2014, from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm at Gordon Mortuary. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 18th, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Donna Stroud officiating. Interment will follow at Clingman Memorial Gardens.
The family will be at the residence.
