Donald Kenneth Greene, 67, died Monday, October 14, 2013.  He was born in Cleveland County, NC on September 24, 1946 to Lucious Coyou Greene and Mary Ethel Harris Greene.  Don served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. Don was an outgoing, charismatic, gregarious and generous person.  He had many friends from his various activities which included boating, RVing with his wife and friends in their motor coach, travelling to NASCAR events and the NC mountains.  Don was also a pilot with many aviator friends. He built and flew model airplanes throughout his life.  He loved trying new things, going to new places and having fun.

Don is survived by his wife of 29 years, Jacqueline A. Greene; daughter, Patricia Grigg, her husband, Robert, and their son, John, all of Lawndale, NC; sister, Frances McCarter and husband, Glenn, of Huntersville, NC; and brother, Alan David Greene of Gastonia, NC.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 S.E. Maynard Road, Cary, NC 27511.  A reception will follow at the funeral home immediately after the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Don may be made to Military Missions in Action, 411-B North Judd Parkway NE, Fuquay-Varina NC 27526.
