| Donald Ray “Don” McSwain, age 59, died May 20, 2012 at Carolinas Medical Center. Born in McDowell County on May 21, 1952 he was the son of Betty Porter McSwain of Boiling Springs and the late G.T. McSwain Jr. He was a truck driver for many years for Consolidated Freight Ways. Donald was a loving father and grandfather who committed his life to serving others; A veteran of the U. S. Army, a former chief and member of the Boiling Springs City Fire Department, who will serve as honorary pallbearers, and a former member of Boiling Springs Rescue.
In addition to his mother, Donald is survived by a son, Chris McSwain of Polkville; two daughters, Brandi Davis and husband Ricky of Boiling Springs, and Tifani Dorsey and husband Tyler of Mooresboro; former wife and friend, Vicki McSwain of Polkville; two brothers, Randall McSwain of McGrady and Neal McSwain and wife Teri of Boiling Springs; a sister, Sandra Weaver of Boiling Springs; and four special grandchildren, Jayda White, Donivan White, Kaylah Davis, and Daniel Davis
Funeral Services will be held on Friday May 25, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Boiling Springs Baptist Church with Pastor John R. “Pete” Bridges officiating. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Thursday May 24, 2012 from 5:00 until 7:00 at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, and other times at the home of Brandi Davis, 4077 Hamilton Rd. Shelby
