Donna Lynn Childers, 48, of 131 Bolin Road, Lot 45, Blacksburg, SC, went home to be with the Lord October 14, 2012, in Augusta, GA. A native of Cherokee County, she was the wife of Jesse B. Childers of the home and a daughter of Shirley Fortenberry Starnes and the late Bobby Gene Starnes. She dearly loved her family. She also loved to watch NCIS and loved the Denver Broncos.
In addition to her husband, Jesse, and her mother, she is survived by two sons - Joseph Childers and Billy Childers both of Blacksburg, SC; one daughter - Misty Carpenter of Blacksburg, SC; nine grandchildren and four brothers- Ricky Starnes, Bobby Starnes, Steve Starnes all of Blacksburg, SC, and Christopher Smith of Waterloo, SC; and two sisters - Rita Martin of Blacksburg, SC, and Cheryl Smith of Nashville, TN.
The family will receive friends at the home. A Celebration Of Life Service will be held Graveside, at Wisher Cemetery, Blacksburg, SC, Friday, October 19, 2012, 11:00 AM, with Rev. Sam Barnette officiating.
