Dorcas Tesseneer Ledford, 73, of Shelby, passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at her home.

Born in Rutherford County, on January 7, 1948 , she was a daughter of the late Yates Webb Tesseneer, Sr. and Susie Mae Pruett Tesseneer. She was retired from Haynes and attended Double Shoals United Methodist Church. Dorcas would also volunteer with the Cleveland-Rutherford Kidney Association.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by two brothers, Coleman Tesseneer and a infant brother and a sister, Bright Carroll.

She is survived by her son, David Ledford and wife Betty of Dirty Ankle; daughter, Angie Andleton and husband Greg of Roanoke Rapids; brother, Yates W. Tesseneer, Jr. of Lattimore; three sisters, Bessie White of Shelby, Patsy Yarbro of Kings Mountain, and Susan Tesseneer of Casar; six grandchildren, Brittany Nalley, Chris Ledford, Stephanie Lowe, Taylor Ledford, Houston Ledford, and Ethan Mosteller; three great grandchildren, Isabella, Aiden, and Sophia.

The family will receive friends on Monday, October 25, 2021, at 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 25, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Claudia Harrelson officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the Rose Hill Memorial Park.
