Doris Bell Borders

Blacksburg-- Doris Bell Borders, 83, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 10th, 2018, at Summit Hills Skilled Nursing Facility in Spartanburg.

Born in Kings Mountain, she was the widow of Charles Borders and the daughter of the late James Bell and Ethel Hardin Bell Lovelace. Mrs. Borders worked in textiles and was a member of Clearview Baptist Church in Grover, NC.

Mrs. Borders is survived by one son, Dean Borders (Debbie) of Blacksburg; one daughter, Debbie White (Keith) of Blacksburg; one brother, Kenneth Bell (Evelyn) of Grover; one sister, Betty Batchler (Don) of Blacksburg; daughter-in-law, Jackie Borders of Clarksville, TN; seven grandchildren, Patrick Borders, Charlie Borders, Lauren Stuart, Rick White, Heather White, Deana Ford, and Miranda Grigg; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her son, David Borders.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 12th, 2018, from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm at Gordon Mortuary, 400 West Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, South Carolina 29702. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 13th, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Clearview Baptist Church, 212 Hardin Circle, Grover, NC 28073 with Rev. Barry Miles officiating. Entombment will follow at Clingman Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Patrick Borders, Rick White, Todd White, Aaron Ford, Michael Grigg, and Scott Batchler will serve as pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of South Carolina, 123 Dillon Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29307.

The family will be at the residence of Dean Borders at 109 Forest Haven Drive in Blacksburg.
