Mrs. Doris Dianne Thompson Coggins, age 68, of East Church Street, died Thursday, November 1, 2012 at Woodlawn Haven Assisted Living, Mt. Holly, N. C. Dianne was born in Kings Mountain, NC on September 30, 1944, the daughter of the late Samuel and Bertie Barber Thompson. She was a member of The Missionary Methodist Church and retired from Mohican Mills, Lincolnton, N. C. after 18 years of service. Dianne was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter and sister. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Arnold Coggins.
Survivors: Sons and their friends: David H. Coggins and Sue Tudor of Kings Mountain, Mike A. Coggins and Connie Edwards of Cherryville. Brothers: Norris Thompson of Kings Mountain, Arnold Thompson of Altus, Okla. And Richard “Dickie” Thompson of Abilene, Texas, Sisters: Sharon Boheler, of Grover, Sandra Miller of Lincolnton, and Becky Dellinger of Newton. Grandchildren: Jennifer Hall and Rene Coggins. Three Great Grandchildren.
The funeral service from Dianne will be held on Monday, November 5, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Missionary Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Holtsclaw and Thad Coggins officiating. Burial will be in Cherryville City Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Sunday, November 4, 2012 at Carpenter’s Funeral Home and will be at the home on Church Street.
