Doris Jean Cobb, 77, of 240 Robinson Bridge Rd., Central, SC, went home to be with Jesus, Monday, December 7, 2015, at her home. Born in Gaffney, SC, she was the wife of the late Franklin Delano Cobb and the daughter of the late Dennis and Leona Gordon Ledbetter. Mrs. Cobb worked in textiles at Limestone Manufacturing Company in Gaffney and was a devoted and hard working mother.
Mrs. Cobb is survived by four daughters - Barbara Mullinax and husband, Roy, of Central, SC, Jody Hamrick and husband, David, of Mooresboro, NC, Rachel Buff, Debbie Whelchel and husband, Dwayne, all of Gaffney, SC; eleven grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; one brother - Carl Ledbetter of Gaffney, SC; and two sisters - Sadie Butler of Gaffney, SC, and Rosetta McDaniel of Casar, NC. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter - Leona Doris Childers; brothers - Archie, Dan, Dennis(Dib), Horace and JR(Bud) Ledbetter; sisters - Ettress White, Margie Childers and Sandra White; half-brothers - Garland, Haskell and Niles Ledbetter; and half-sister - Helen Davis.
The family will receive friends at 139 Coyl Rd, Gaffney, SC until service time on Friday. A Celebration Of Life Service will be held Friday, December 11, 2015, 1:00 PM, at Turning Point Church, 345 E. Floyd Baker Blvd., Gaffney, SC, with Revs. Russell Drake and Larry Melton officiating. Interment will follow at Frederick Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers serving are Roy C. Mullinax, Jr., Michael Mullinax, William Kennedy, John Trefry, Chad Waters, and Kyle Gunnells. Honorary pallbearers serving are CJ Waters, James Henderson and Jayden Waters.
