Doris Jean Riddle, age 70, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at her residence.
Born February 28, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Glenn Gettys. She worked as a Registered Nurse for Autumn Care and also Rutherford Regional Medical Center. She was also a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church and enjoyed cooking, decorating and especially caring for others.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Frank Riddle.
Survivors include her son, James Earl Riddle of Ellenboro; brother, Norris Gettys of Sunshine Community; sister, Donnie Lovelace also of Sunshine Community. She is also survived by two special friends, Raquel Fletcher and Travis Pritchard both of Forest City.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at the Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church with Reverend Paul White and Reverend Chad Roach officiating. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
