Doris Matuska

Doris Matuska, 88, of 254 Wendy Drive, passed away on Friday, January 13th, 2023, at her residence.

Born in Sterling, Illinois, she was the widow of Frank Matuska Sr. and the daughter of Floyd and Myrtle Spencer. Doris formerly worked in textiles. She enjoyed baking, crossword puzzles, sewing, crocheting, and playing cards. She loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all of her family.

Surviving Ms. Matuska are her sons, Rodney Wagenknecht and Frank Matuska Jr.; her daughters, Teena Peeler, Helen Powell (David), Evelyn Matuska, and Kelley Adams; her daughter-in-law, Linda Wagenknecht; her grandchildren, Amy Kirby (Kenny), Rick Matuska, Destiny Wagenknecht-Stoner, Joseph Wagenknecht, Storm Wagenknecht, John Wagenknecht (Betsy), Candice Peeler, Nate Peeler (Abilia), Morgan Lavine (Thomas), Gene Doyle, Tom Doyle, and Billie Walkenbach; 20 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Loris Whittington and Carol Garland (Gary).

In addition to her husband and parents, Ms. Matuska was preceded in death by her sons, Danny Wagenknecht, Randy Wagenknecht, and Mike Matuska, her grandchildren, Randy and Amber Wagenknecht, her brothers, Lowell, Teen, and Paul Spencer, and her sister, Norma McCoy.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 15, 2023 from 2:00 - 3:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary, 400 West Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, SC. Memorial services will immediately follow at 3:00 pm with Rev. Lee Coyle officiating.

The family will be at the residence.
