Doris “Memaw” Wilson Devon
 Mrs. Doris “Memaw” Wilson Devon, 74, of 231 Devon Rd., went to be with her Lord, Fri.., Mar. 30, 2012 at Cleveland Pines Nursing Center.  A native of Gaston Co. she was the daughter of the late Rudolph Willard and Lavada McGinnis Wilson.  She worked for 20 years in the food service department with Cleveland Co. Schools.  She played the piano and organ, and taught Sunday School class at New Bethel Church of Shelby.  She enjoyed singing and playing at many funerals over the years.  She volunteered at Cleveland Pines for 20 years; and was a member of Crestview Baptist Church. She will be remembered as a Christian lady who loved Jesus.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Rebecca Wilson; and brother, Bill Wilson.

SURVIVED: She is survived by her three daughters, Cindy Hord Clark and husband Kevin of Mooresboro, Roxanna Devon Jones and husband Jaman, Patti Devon Lankford and husband J.D., all of Shelby; three sisters, Jean Anderson of Lincolnton, Sybile Wilson and Joyce Smith and husband Bobby, all of Shelby, two brothers, B.C. Wilson and wife Essie of Lexington, SC,  Ronnie Wilson and wife Mary of Kings Mountain; six grandchildren, Amy Darnell Emery and husband Matt of Shelby, Jonathan Darnell and wife Lindsey of Boiling Springs, Whitney Devon Bryant and husband Tony of Ellenboro, Courtney Devon Malachi and husband Dion, Nathaniel Devon, Wyatt Lankford, all of Shelby; five great grandchildren, Parker and Gracie Emery, Riley Bryant, Deuce Malachi, and Josie Kate Darnell, many nieces and nephews; and a special thank you to our aunt Sybile, and Helen Darnell for all their love and care they extended. 

SERVICES: Monday, 2pm at Crestview Baptist Church.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Sunday, 4-5:30pm at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home, and other times at the home of her daughter, Cindy, 235 Devon Rd., Mooresboro.

CLERGY: Revs. Eddie Gray, Stan Webb, and Alan Beane

BURIAL: Burial will immediately follow in Sunset Cemetery
