Mrs. Doris Wilson, age 82 of Shelby, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 3, 2019.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Rayfus Mansfield Wilson, Jr. and Rashard Mykal Wilson, four great grandchildren, Jayla Grant, Rayln Wilson, Devin Wilson, and Taylor Wilson, a brother, George C. Surratt (Carolyn), six sisters, Helen P. Surratt Craig (Horace), Feleica Surratt, Iva Jane Petty (Nathaniel), Juanita Surratt, Laura Jamerson (Charles), and Carrie Surratt, a daughter-in-law, Genie A. Wilson, a sister-in-law, Jimmie Surratt, and Nick Snow which Doris considered a son of the family.
Doris was the daughter of the late George and Irene Harris Surratt and was preceded in death by her husband, Cornell "Buster" Wilson, Jr., a son, Rayfus Mansfield Wilson, Sr., two brothers, Leon Surratt and Thomas N. Surratt, and two sisters, Mary E. Surratt Reid and Louann Surratt.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 pm, Sunday, January 6, 2019, at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, January 7, 2019, at the funeral home. Family will be receiving friends at the home of Charles and Laura James, 831 N. Morgan St., Shelby.
