Mrs. Doris Woelfer Dorsey, age 96 of Shelby, NC, passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at White Oak Manor, Shelby.

She is survived by a son, Tommy Dorsey of Finlayson, MN, a daughter, Patty McGinnis and husband Mike of Lawndale, NC, eight grandchildren, Sammy Dorsey of Wilmington, NC, Wesley Dorsey and Brandi Lyn Thompson of Wilmington, NC, Jimmy McGinnis of Gaffney, SC, Sunn Dorsey and wife Claire of Ft. Bragg, CA, Maggi Walsh and husband Courtney of Columbia, SC, Mollie Dorsey of Ft. Bragg, CA, Keila Parker and husband Keith of Spruce Pine, NC, and Rainee Sanchez and husband Jesus of Ft. Bragg, CA, ten great grandchildren, Gavin and Isabelle Dorsey, Patrick and Emma Walsh, Katlin Burns, and Nick, Kayla, Andrew, Ricky, and Derek Sanchez, a daughter-in-law, Becky Ellis of Ft. Bragg, CA, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Born October 9, 1919 in East St. Louis, IL, Mrs. Dorsey was the daughter of the late Clinton and Nellie (Chisom) Woelfer and was preceded in death by her husband, Dewitt Dorsey, two sons, Jerry and Jimmy Dorsey, and a sister, Irene Kendall.

Mrs. Dorsey owned and operated Dorsey Dry Cleaners for more than 50 years. She loved her church family and enjoyed sewing, taking care of her husband, and spending time with her family and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 4:00 pm Friday, October 16, 2015 at Lafayette Street United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Arthur Holland. A visitation will be held following the memorial service.
