Dorothy "Dot" Falco, age 92, died peacefully Sunday, April 24, 2016 in Maryland. Mrs. Falco was born October 18, 1923 in Pittsburgh and was the daughter of the late Harvey Morgan Ruch and Helen Hewitt Ruch. Dorothy served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1944 to 1946 where she met her husband Peter. After raising their family, they moved from Maryland to Florida and enjoyed living on the beach. Dorothy was a member of the Catholic Church of the Epiphany. She was active in the community and loved to entertain friends. She played Bridge with the ladies group in her condo into her late 80's and enjoyed sitting in the sunshine on her balcony. She had a love for reading, traveling and taking cruises to the Caribbean. Dorothy enjoyed sharing stories of her volunteer days at Sacred Heart Hospital in Maryland where she worked on the cardiac floor. She loved having visits with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was very generous in her love and giving. She enjoyed life to the fullest and was an inspiration to all who met her.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband Peter, of over 50 years; and two brothers Gene Ruch and Robert Ruch.

Dorothy is survived by two sons, Peter Falco and his wife Patricia of Alexandria, VA; Alfred Falco and his wife Pamela of Ormond Beach, FL; and one daughter Donna Foo and her husband Michael of Brookville, MD. Dorothy is also survived by seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 1301 Mt. Pleasant Church Road, Mooresboro, N.C. at 1:00pm Saturday, May 7, 2016 with Rev. Kevin Hamrick and Rev. Rob Hefner officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30pm-1:00pm in the church sanctuary.
