Dot was born in Mecklenburg County on January 17, 1935 a daughter of the late Richard Jennings McRorie and Myrtle Mae Hampton McRorie.  She was homemaker, a loving mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her husband, Alfred Turner, Sr.; a son Alfred Turner, Jr.; three daughters, Marsha Biggerstaff Sigmon and Shelley Turner Barringer all of Bessemer City and Wendy Barbour of Charlotte; one brother Richard C. McRorie of Cherryville and Nell McRorie Ross of Lincolnton; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Thursday, September 13, 2012 from 1:45 until 2:45PM at Stamey~Cherryville Funeral Home and at other times the family will be at the home.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at 3:00PM at Stamey~Cherryville Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randall Wright officiating.

Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Lincolnton.
