Dorothy Sue Conner Elliott, age 54, of Midway Trail, Forest City, NC, died Sunday, September 15, 2013 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.
Dorothy was born April 5, 1959 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Martin John Conner and Mary Sue McFarland Conner who resides in Forest City. She worked in the restaurant industry most of her life, having worked for Walker’s Super Chef, Mike’s Drive-In and Greene’s Restaurant. She enjoyed crocheting, crafts, and reading her Bible. She had the distinction of being a member of the Red Cross Ten Gallon Club. Dorothy was also a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
In addition to her mother, survivors include her husband, Samuel Joseph Elliott; one son, Sammy Joe Elliott of Mooresboro; three brothers, Danny J. Conner of Abbeville, SC; Donnie Gene Conner and wife, Diane of Forest City and Douglas Ray Conner and wife, Betty of Bostic; two sisters, Deborah Ann Simpson of Forest City and Dale Ramona Gosnell and husband, Ronald of Mooresboro. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Reverend Bob Philbeck officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church.
