After 54 years of marriage, Doyle Avon Lanning passed away on Wednesday, June 5th, 2024 and Brenda Greene Lanning passed away on Tuesday, May 28th, 2024.

Born in Blacksburg, SC, Doyle was the son of the late Clyde and Ruth Moore Lanning. Doyle formerly worked as a forklift operator. Born in Gaffney, SC, He was a veteran of the US Army. Brenda was the daughter of the late Jimmie and Lucille Rollins Greene. She formerly worked in healthcare. Both were members of Broad River Baptist Church of Blacksburg.

Surviving Doyle and Brenda are their son, Jason Lanning, and their grandchildren, Jeffery and Zoey Lanning.

Doyle is survived by his siblings, Betty Floyd (M.D.), Sondra Anderson, and Earl Lanning (Linda); and several special nieces and nephews.

Brenda is survived by her brother, Johnny Greene (Cindy); and several special nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Doyle was preceded in death by his siblings, Grady, James, Harry Lanning and Berti Dover.

In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her siblings, Kathy Love and Jackie Greene.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced at a later date.
