| Mr. Dwight Bowen, 80, of Cleveland County, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2011. Services were held at Beaver Baptist Church. Burial with military rites were held at Beaver Dam Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Bowen served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and in Greenland.
Mr. Bowen was preceded in death by his parents, Garland Bowen and Nellie Poole Bowen and his brothers, Howard and Dean Bowen.
He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Hester Melton Bowen of the home; daughters, Gail Thornton of Boiling Springs; Cindy Campos and husband Mel of Boiling Springs; brothers, Bobby Bowen of Shelby; Garland Bowen, Jr. of Shelby; sister, Martha Jane Crosby of Shelby; three grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Cleveland Funeral Services & Crematory of Shelby, NC is serving the family.
