Dwight Luther Moody, Sr., age 76, of Frank Street, passed away Friday December 14, 2019 at Caromont Regional Medical Center. He was born April 5, 1943 in Gaston County to the late Harris Webb and Annie Lee Simpson Moody.

Dwight was an avid outdoorsman. He loved fishing, coon hunting, and deer hunting.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy Moody; sisters, Betty Jo, Frances, and Libby Ann.

Left to cherish his memory is his companion of 27 years, Irene Guiton Willis; son, Dwight L. Moody, Jr. of Lincolnton; stepson, Glenn Wesley Willis, Jr.; brother, Bobby; sisters, Mary, and Vita Mae; grandchildren, Kristy Bravo, Chris Moody, Glenn Willis III (Nickie), and Arebella Willis; 5 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaugter.

His family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Monday December 16, 2019 at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services.

A Celebration of Dwight's life will be held at 2 PM Tuesday December 17, 2019 at Carpenter-Porter Funeral and Cremation Service with Rev. George Fredell and Pastor Scott Mann officiating.
