E.W. (Dud) Parker
E.W. (Dud) Parker, 84, of 814 E. Zion Church Rd. in Shelby, passed away September 9, 2014 at Peak Resources in Cherryville.

Born December 10, 1929 in Cleveland County, he was a son of the late Charles Allen Parker and Rosa Tessineer Parker. He was retired from the NC Dept. of Corrections after thirty two years of service and was a member of Hoyle
Memorial United Methodist Church. Mr. Parker also served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed camping and truly loved his extended family of campers.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, David Neal Parker, one brother, Charlie Parker, and one brother-in-law, Cleve Adams.

Survivors include his wife of fifty nine years, Erma Jean Adams Parker, brother, Bynum Parker of Caroleen, sister, Lillian Grigg of Lake Norman, sister-in-law, Annette Martin of Mooresboro, nephews and nieces, Tim Martin,
Bruce Adams, Albert Parker, Maynard Parker, Ralph Parker, Paul Parker, Gail Beam, and Donna Richards, three great nieces and nephews, Kaley Geer, Rebecca Martin, and Ian Caleb Martin, special cousin, Jake Parker, and numerous other cousins.

Visitation will be at Stamey Tysinger Funeral Home & Cremation Center Friday from 1:00PM until 2:00PM.

The funeral service will be at Stamey Tysinger Funeral Home & Cremation Center Chapel Friday at 2:00PM with Revs. Ron Wellner and Tim Martin officiating. 

Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
