| Mr. Earl Wilson Bailes age 67 of Lakewood Drive, died Thursday September 8, 2011 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. Born in York S.C. he was the son of Grace Bailes Hyder and the late John Hyder and the grandson of the late Tom and Mary Bailes. Mr. Bailes was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday September 11, 2011 at 2:00pm in the chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Cremations. Pastor Mackie Turner will be officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. A private burial will be held at a later date.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Bailes is survived by his wife of 47 years, Agnes Crowe Bailes; two daughters, Donna Plank of Rutherfordton, and Teresa Ray of Shelby; three brothers, Steve Hyder and Debbie, Wayne Hyder and Lisa, and Mack Hyder and Darlene; a sister, Virginia Abernathy and Stan; Grandchildren, Andrew Plank, Dylan Ray, and Kristin Plank; and Laura Davis a special friend of the family whom he treated like his own.
