Mr. Eddie Dean Splawn, 68, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at his residence.
He was born November 28, 1947 in Cliffside, the husband of Beverly Cochran Splawn and the son of the late See Splawn and the late Ethel Hutchins Splawn. He was a former textile worker, a furniture salesman, a former reserve deputy with the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office and was a Vietnam Veteran. He enjoyed fishing, thought of other people's needs before his own and was devoted to his family.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years; a son, Justin Splawn and his wife, Samantha of Rutherfordton; four grandchildren, Heath, Braden, Kailee and Serena; a brother, Larry "Bud" Splawn and wife, Lois; mother-in law, Ann Cochran; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bob and Debra Tesseneer; a brother-in-law, Russ Cochran; a special nephew, Matthew Wilkie and many other nieces, nephews and friends.
He is preceded by his parents and five siblings
A memorial service will be held 3 pm Saturday, October 1st at Eggers Funeral Home of Cliffside with Pastor Kevin Rohm officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 pm before the service at the funeral home.
