Edgar was born August 15, 1936 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Worth Edgar Lane and Cora Bradley Lane.  He was a farmer most of his life and worked for General Fireproofing for many years, before his retirement.  He attended Piney Knob Baptist Church and enjoyed traveling to the beach and to the mountains. 

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three children, Juanita Lane, Bobby Lane, Lynn Young and by eight brothers and sisters.

     Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Juanita Greenlee Lane; one son, Isaac Lane; three daughters, Birdie Bradshaw, Florence Kennedy and Dorothy Lane all of Lincolnton; two brothers, Clarence Lane and Charles Lane both of Rutherfordton; three sisters, Lillie Jones of Cliffside, Ann Hamby of Statesville and Sue Lane of Rutherfordton.  He is also survived by three grandchildren, Joe Bradshaw, Tim Lane, Kim Lane and one great-granddaughter.

     No formal services are planned.

     In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Harrelson Funeral Home, 1251 US Highway 221A, Forest City, NC  28043 to help defray funeral costs.
