Mrs. Beam was born in Lincoln C. on April 24, 1927 a daughter of the late Cone Gaston and Vera Hallman Beam. She was a longtime member of Bess Chapel United Methodist Church where she was a member of the United Methodist Women and the Adult Women’s Sunday School Class. She was the owner of Lakewood Care Center in Denver.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband F. L. Beam, Jr.
Survivors include her children Anita Beam Gillespie (John) of Cherryville, Becky Beam Childers (James) of Cherryville, and Frank L. Beam, III of Cherryville, grandchildren Edi Gillespie Perez(Patrick) of Apex, Ty Frolin Beam(Tiffany) of Cherryville, Franklin Luther “Luke” Beam IV (Natalie) of Cherryville, John Adam Gillespie (Kate) of St. Augustine, FL , Heidi Beam Hullette(Dustin) of Cherryville, and Madylin Anita Gillespie of Cherryville, nine great grandchildren, and a brother Carroll “Bud” Beam (Berdene) of Cherryville.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday May 14, 2013 at Bess Chapel United Methodist Church at 11 AM with Rev. Roy Byers officiating with burial to follow in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 6-8 PM at Carpenter’s Funeral and Cremation Services and at other times at the home.
