Edith Erwin Peterson, 77, 523 W. Montgomery St., Gaffney, SC, went home to be with the Lord February 24, 2017, at the home of her daughter. Born in Gaffney, SC, she is the daughter of the late Woodrow and Oveda Johnson Erwin. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church. She was a retired cook and loved shopping and reading.
Left to cherish her memory are three sons - Robert Peterson, Jimmy Peterson and Brian Peterson all of Gaffney; three daughters - Mary Jane Allison, Sandra Peterson Allison and Kimberly P. Starnes all of Gaffney; 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; one brother - Mickey Erwin of Gaffney; and four sisters - Brenda Humphries, Joan McCullough, Cathy Coleman and Phyllis Pierce all of Gaffney. In addiition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two sons - Ricky Peterson and Preston Peterson; one daughter - Candus Ramsey; three brothers - Don Erwin, David Erwin and Keith Erwin; and on sister - Cindy Erwin.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6-8:00 PM at White Columns Funeral Service, Blacksburg, SC. A Celebration Of Life Service will be held Tuesday, February 28, 2017, 2:00 PM, at Northside Baptist Church, with Rev. Joel Phillips officiating. A private burial will be held. At other times, they will be at the home of Sandra Allison, 269 Triangle Road, Gaffney, SC.
