Edna Black Butler
Edna Black Butler, 95, daughter of Ella Holland Black and Samuel Black passed away peacefully to her eternal reward on April 20, 2014 at White Oak Manor of Kings Mountain.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Solon Beam Butler. Edna was survived by three daughters, Patsy Mikeal and husband Herman of Bristol, VA, Judy Mullins and husband Randy of Cramerton and Connie Allen and husband Buddy of Shelby. She was the proud grandmother of two grandchildren, Randy Mikeal and Shannon Standish and four step-grandchildren. Edna also had two great grandsons, Logan Mikeal and Landon Standish and six step-great grandchildren.
She served the special needs community of Rutherford County as a bus driver and an instructor for many years. Edna participated in the Rutherford County Senior Games, winning numerous medals and ribbons. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Ellenboro for fifty-five years and faithfully attended and served until her health prevented it.
A Celebration of Mrs. Butler’s Life will be held at 3:00pm on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Sepaugh officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the Family Life Center.
