Edna Sanders Stroup

Blacksburg -- Edna Sanders Stroup, 80, of 361 Count Gravel Road, passed away Tuesday, September 5th, 2017, at Mary Black Health System - Gaffney.

Born in Belmont, she was the widow of James Leroy Stroup and the daughter of the late William Burel Sanders and Elsie Mae McClain Sanders. Mrs. Stroup retired from textiles and was of the Baptist faith. She was also very proud to say that she was a 1954 graduate of both Blacksburg High School and Charlotte Beauty School.

Mrs. Stroup is survived by two sons, Jimmy Reed and wife, Tina, of Blacksburg and Joey Reed of Smyrna; six grandchildren, Jennifer Reed, Stacy Reed, Rosie Pyle, Mikey Reed, Anne Spencer, and Robert Reed; four great-grandchildren, Christian Reed, Peyton Faulkner, Philip Spencer, and Phoenix Faulkner; and one great-grandson, Zander Reed, who will be arriving shortly.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Hubert Lee Sanders.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 7th, 2017, from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary. Graveside services will be held Friday, September 8th, 2017, at 5:00 pm at Clingman Memorial Gardens.

The family will be at their respective homes.
