Mr. Edward Dean Wilson, 68, of 1007 Gum St. Shelby, NC departed this life on Monday, December 9, 2013 at Wendover Hospice in Shelby.   A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Ed and Alma Phillips Wilson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Freeman Wilson; a brother, Steven Wilson and a sister, Linda K. Lane.

He is survived by three sons, Tim Wilson of SC, Berry Wilson, Fredrick Rice (Cindy), Brandon Wilson and Dedrick Wilson all of Shelby; two daughters, Stephanie Wilson (Steve) of Shelby and Deana Rice (Avon) of Greensboro, NC; three sisters, Patricia Mitchell (Bobby) of Mooresboro, NC, Mary Francis Martin of Shelby and Connie Butler of Greensboro; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a special son, Bobby Robinson of Shelby; best friend, Kevin Johnson also of Shelby and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 3:00 PM at Green Bethel Baptist Church with Pastor Wade Wallace officiating.  Burial will take place at the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 3:00 PM at the church on Saturday and at other times at the home of his daughter, Stephanie Wilson 912 Walnut St. in Shelby.
