Elizabeth Inez Smith Hudson, 89, of 901 Carpenter's Grove Church Road,
Lawndale, died Monday, June 13, 2016 at Burke Hospice and Palliative Care in
Valdese.

Born April 19, 1927 in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late
Lonnie and Mae Smith. She was retired from Cleveland Mills and was a member
of Corinth Baptist Church.

Mrs. Hudson was a go getter, she worked hard her whole life and fault hard
til the end. She had the heart and soul of an eagle and the fight of a lion.
She loved her family with everything she had. Mrs. Hudson loved working in
the yard especially with her many flower beds. She had a true green thumb.
Mrs. Hudson had a Peacock named George that she loved dearly. She loved to
feed everyone that would come to eat and loved to sit back and watch them.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Odus
Hudson; daughter, Mamie Norville; a brother, Bob Smith and a son-in-law,
Edward Worley.

Survivors include three sons, Odell Hudson and wife, Diane of Lawndale;
James Hudson and wife, Evelyn of Belwood and Jim Hudson and wife, Kathy of
Lawndale; three daughters, Ruth Burdette and husband, Floyd of Travelers
Rest, SC; Mary Sue Worley of Lawndale and Peggy Aldridge and husband, Burt
of Belwood; two brothers, Hazel "Sig" Smith and Bill Smith and wife, Linda;
eighteen grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren and seventeen
great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Thursday at Corinth Baptist Church

The funeral service will be 3:00 PM, Thursday at Corinth Baptist Church with
Rev. Norris Willis and Rev. Homer Tessneer officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
