Elizabeth “Lib” Greene Jones, 79, of Hardin Drive, Shelby, died on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Hospice of Cleveland County at Wendover. A native of Rutherford County, she was born on November 05, 1933, a daughter of the late Joseph Guy and Zennie Mae Melton Greene. Lib was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother whose greatest joy was living for her family. She was a member of Waco Baptist Church and a past Auxiliary Commander of DAVA Unit 18, Shelby.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald Jones; one son, Andy Jones and wife Jill of Weaverville; one daughter, Vickie Jones Murray and husband Alan of Waco; one brother, Joe Greene and wife Mary Frances of Matthews, NC; one sister, Hazel Greene Bridges and husband Dr. Worth Bridges, Jr., of Tifton, GA; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Jones Helton of Ellenboro and Sallie Jones of Shelby; her grandchildren, Michelle Murray, Ashley Jones, Tiffany Jones and Alex Murray.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30pm on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at the A.C. McKinney Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Harold Fite and the Rev. Dwight Cooper officiating. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 1:00pm-2:15pm on Thursday, May 16, 2013 and at other times at the home.
